Riverside Superior CourtEffective August 1, 2026

Announces Civil Filing Locations Adjustments

Changes will support a more balanced distribution of civil cases across court locations

The Riverside Superior Court will adjust the filing locations for certain civil case types originating from several communities in western Riverside County, effective August 1, 2026.

The adjustments are intended to more evenly distribute civil filings among court locations while considering the distance residents must travel to access courthouse services.

The Court reviewed civil filing data from July through December 2025 to identify workload imbalances among court locations. The revised filing assignments are expected to create a more balanced distribution of cases and support the efficient use of judicial and operational resources.

Under the new filing structure:

Unlimited civil cases originating from Lake Elsinore, Hemet, Winchester, Homeland, Wildomar, and Murrieta will be filed at the Historic Courthouse in Riverside.
Limited civil cases, small claims cases, and unlawful detainer cases originating from Lake Elsinore and Wildomar will be filed at the Corona Courthouse.
Small claims and unlawful detainer cases previously filed at the Banning Justice Center will be filed at the Moreno Valley Courthouse.
Updated filing information, courthouse addresses, and public access resources will be available on the Court’s website at www.riverside.courts.ca.gov.

Individuals are encouraged to confirm the appropriate filing location before submitting documents or traveling to a courthouse.

Using These Resources

Reference information for planning legal work.

The ASAP Legal Resources section is designed to make frequently requested court information easier to find. The court calendar helps teams identify common California state and federal closure dates, while the fee schedule provides a quick reference for common filing fees in several major counties.

These resources support planning, but they do not replace a current court order, local rule or clerk-provided fee schedule. Courts can change fees, procedures and operating calendars. Confirm the applicable requirement before relying on a date or amount for a filing or proceeding.

Legal Resources

Resources for court, filing and litigation-support planning.

ASAP Legal resources are intended to help legal teams find practical information connected with court schedules, service planning and the litigation-support work surrounding a matter. Use these resources as a starting point, then contact our team when an assignment requires current court-specific confirmation or hands-on support.

Because court procedures, holidays, fees and filing requirements can change, resource information should be reviewed in the context of the specific jurisdiction and deadline. Our team can help coordinate court reporting, eFiling, service of process, records retrieval, investigations, messenger services, trial preparation and eDiscovery when the matter moves from research to action.

For an active assignment, include the court or jurisdiction, service needed, relevant date and any known deadline. That lets ASAP Legal route the request efficiently and connect related services when appropriate.
